What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $76,426 - $87,000. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site 3 days per week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
What You'll Do
Denver's Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE) is dedicated to advancing Denver's environmental and public health goals. DDPHE works collaboratively with city, state and community partners to conduct education, community engagement, and enforcement to promote healthy people, healthy pets, and a sustainable environment. DDPHE oversees services related to public health and the environment and is comprised of six divisions: Division of Shared Services and Business Operations; Community & Behavioral Health; Public Health Investigations; Denver Animal Protection; the Office of Medical Examiner; and Environmental Quality. The Shared Services and Business Operations Division has an opening for a Fiscal and Contract Administrator positions available for those interested in exploring a career in public and/or environmental health. This position will manage a Centers for Disease Control & Prevention Public Health Infrastructure Grant and associated subcontracts.
Specifically, as the Fiscal and Contract Administrator you will:
Provide financial oversight and reporting for a large, complex federal grant.
Manage and track expenses in relation to the work plan to ensure internal and external team members are within budget.
Manage fiscal activities - auditing, budgeting, accounting - short- and long-term planning
Develop and administer contracts and RFPs.
Work closely with contracted partners to ensure compliance with subcontract terms.
Work with contract administrators on grant and subcontract award and closeout processes.
Support grant sub-award processes and compliance efforts.
Support vendors, contractors and sub-recipient agreements, monitoring, communication, and reporting requirements.
Work closely with Accounting Services to develop, track, and coordinate grant and subcontract budgets, invoicing, and payments.
Conduct strategic budget planning, projections, and solve complex business issues.
Liaise with the funding agency, City agencies, community organizations and DDPHE divisions.
Prepare comprehensive reports and responds to auditors.
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, procedures, etc.
Track and approve expenditures.
May provide supervision as needed.
Along with all department staff, this position will actively participate on an emergency preparedness and response team to support DDPHE's responsibilities outlined in the City's Emergency Operations Plan. This may require being 'on-call' from time to time to help respond to emergencies. Additional training commensurate with assigned duties will be provided.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
Experience with federal grant oversight and administration
Experience working within a variety of platforms, including Grant Solutions, REDCap, and Workday
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of full performance, professional level experience overseeing and administering functional or operational aspects of fiscal business operations.
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
License/Certifications: None.
Note: While a driver's license is not required, individuals in these positions may need to attend in-person events around Denver. The individuals must arrange for transportation to attend such events should they arise.
