The Department of Revenue's (DOR) Business and Financial Services (B&FS) Division is looking to fill a Fiscal Analyst 1 on our Expenditure team in Tumwater, WA. This is a close-knit team of people who are excited to work together and do their part. As a Fiscal Analyst 1, you will process accounts payable documents and ensure complete back up documentation and approval guidelines are present. This position also collaborates with our Procurement and Contracts (P&C) department when back-up documentation is conflicting with organizational and State Administrative and Accounting Manual (SAAM) requirements. If selected, here are some of the other essential functions you can expect:

  • Offer training regarding DOR, Office of Financial Management (OFM), and SAAM guidelines around invoice processing.

  • Audit, verify, and prepare invoice payment batches for scanning, indexing, and processing.

  • Assist staff with financial summary information, analysis of financial reports and development of fiscal procedures.

  • Resolve problems related to accounts payable issues.

  • Assist with fiscal year end closing of financial records.

  • Maintain and distribute accounting reports and warrants received in the accounting office from Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS).

Who we are looking for:

A professional with fiscal experience who shows an exceptional attention to detail, is easily adaptable to changing priorities, is actively engaged in their work, and has a positive attitude. In addition, your application materials must address the following competencies:

  • Experience in an Accounts Payable (AP) position.

  • Knowledge of state requirements for audit documentation.  

Preference may be granted to candidates with:

  • Experience in AP in another state agency.

  • Experience with Kofax system or other inface software for AP purposes
