Are you motivated by complexity? Do you have a keen eye for the finer details? The Department of Natural Resources is looking for a driven individual to join their team as a Fiscal Analyst 1 in the Southeast Region.
This position supports the business operations of the Southeast Region by providing financial support to the employees and management. This position is responsible for processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll for the region. To be successful in this role, the incumbent has to be able to interact and communicate well with a wide range of employees, contractors, and the Office of Financial Management. The incumbent also has to be able to focus in a very busy environment, as they are responsible for analyzing discrepancies.Responsibilities:
Guiding other Fiscal Analysts and region employees on accounts payable processes.
Providing interpretation and direction on the use of the agency Chart of Accounts to ensure proper coding of expenditures.
Independently interpreting and ensuring all vendor and travel payments are paid within the SAAM, OFM purchasing guidelines, Agency policy and procedures, and agency and statewide contracts.
Auditing, reviewing, and processing invoices and travel documents.
Ensuring all payments are timely, accurate, and in compliance with OFM policies and DNR policies.
Analyze and interpret recurring financial payroll data to identify any discrepancies in various payroll, leave and benefits functions, over/under payments, NTAR corrections, and leave accrual and use issues.
Analyze, interpret, and apply complex Civil Service Rules and DNR policies in regard to regular pay, overtime-eligible and non-eligible employees.
Required Qualifications:
OR an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience with basic computer applications (such as Microsoft Outlook and Excel).
Experience setting priorities to meet work deadlines and produce results.
Experience compiling financial analysis reports.
Experience performing accurate work using knowledge of general accounting practices.
Experience with Payroll and Accounts Payable.
Proficiency in using a ten-key calculator.
Experience with providing superior customer service.

Special Requirements and Conditions of Employment:
This position is in an office setting at the Southeast Region Office in Ellensburg WA.
Travel for this position is minimal. Occasional travel for training or meetings outside the region may be needed. Travel may be needed for participation in fire activity outside of the region.
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of Department of Natural Resources and/or OFM financial policies and procedures.
Experience using SAP software such as NaturE or HRMS.
Demonstrated aptitude to learn business computer software systems.
Experience with government fiscal operations.
