Position Summary
Job Description
Do the final lock-in and fine tuning of the Registration System.
Monitor the temperature of all dryers.
Monitor the speed of the press.
Make the workstation assignments for the Second Pressman and the Assistant Pressman positions and monitor the work performance of these positions.
Collect all reports.
Fill out daily Press Report.
Maintain the quality of the tickets, print, color and perforation.
Ensure the proper training of the Press crew.
Work closely with the Image Room.
Coordinate production communication of the shift's press crew.
Perform any other duties which may be assigned.
Supervise a total of up to seven employees in the Imaging and Press Room.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Setup and maintain monitoring systems on press.
Complete Work Orders in the maintenance system
Know how to use RTM system and EOJ calculator.
Set an example for other employees to follow. Lead press operators are held to higher standards.
Follow all safety procedures and that all crew members are using PPE.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge
Good color matching skills.
High Mechanical ability.
Leadership capabilities.
Previous experience working at every other job on the press.
A mechanical and technical aptitude.
The ability to differentiate between colors.
Able to have a good relationship with other people.
Good, clear verbal and written communication skills to coordinate the Press Operation.
Physically agile.
The ability to push/pull 500 plus pounds.
Able to lift 75 lbs.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Job Level Description
Demonstrates advanced proficiency in all areas of the function and specialized knowledge in almost all.
