Primary Job Duties

To be considered for a pilot position, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age

  • Hold a Commercial License

  • Possess a current first-class medical (verified at interview)

  • Be a U.S. citizen or able to show proof of right to work in the U.S.

  • Hold an FCC Radio License

  • English Proficiency Endorsement (EPE)

  • Have a current Passport

  • Hold an aviation degree from an accredited school (or equivalent experience)

  • Must be available to work on any day, seven days a week, including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Based on pilot bidding seniority and other factors, must be available for a call-out with as little as a two hour notice. Must be available for this call out on any day, night, weekends and holidays

  • Be within three months of the minimum hour requirements detailed below

ATP Written Requirement:

  • SkyWest will provide the means to complete a SkyWest-approved CTP course for those who complete an application and successfully pass the pilot interview.

Pilot applicants must also meet one of the following minimums:

SkyWest Minimum Requirements When Counting Helicopter or Glider TimeSkyWest Airlines recognizes the skills common to helicopter and glider flying. SkyWest will accept helo/glider time as part of an applicant's total time as long as they have a minimum of 250 PIC hours of fixed wing.

Criminal Offense and Canadian Clearance

No pilot who has been convicted of any criminal offense that will prohibit him/her of gaining Canadian clearance will be hired for a flight job. Five years after the conviction or completing the applicable sentence, the pilot has to apply for Canadian Rehabilitation from Canada and receive a wavier indicating that they are eligible to enter into the country. Any conviction that a pilot receives while employed at SkyWest Airlines would require them to complete the same process.

Reserve for Flight Jobs

Initially, most pilot new hires can expect to be placed on reserve, depending on the needs of individual domiciles. In some cases, time spent on reserve can be substantial for flight jobs. Ready reserves are also used and most likely utilized at domiciles or hubs. Regular reserve policy requires a two-hour call out. Pilots on reserve status must be available for this call out on any day, night, weekends and holidays.

Minimum Requirements

  • Assist the Pilot- in- Command (PIC) in conducting the flight safely and efficiently

  • Assist the PIC and/or passenger service personnel as needed to ensure a prompt departure

  • Assist or relieve the PIC in manipulation of the flight controls of an aircraft while underway, including taxiing, takeoff and landing of such aircraft

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Must have a First Class Medical

  • Must be willing to fly assigned schedule based on pilot bidding seniority; including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

The Associate Gift Planning Officer position is part of the Planned Giving department, which functions as a service department to the fundraising segments within Focus on the Family and to our donors directly. This position exists to assist the Gift Planning Officer with the marketing, processing, and cataloging of planned gifts, namely estate specific gifts that come to us through bequests. Additionally, this position must have a high-level knowledge of other planned gifts such as non-cash gifts and IRA charitable rollovers in order to assist donors by answering questions and being a resource to them and to the fundraising team. These activities involve extensive contact with both donors and industry professionals that require considerable initiative and independent judgment on a daily basis with only general direction from the Gift Planning Officer. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: The Focus on the Family Planned Giving department oversees four major gift categories. This position will assist the Gift Planning Officer in the following ways: Wills & Bequests: * Is a proactive Focus on the Family advocate encouraging appropriate donors to add us to their estate plan * Receives and reviews all estate documents to ensure that due diligence is completed in the process of closing estate gifts * Works with the Gift Planning Officer on the marketing strategy and content for bequest campaigns * Manages the follow up process for bequest prospects * Maintains an accurate record of bequest notifications in our donor data base * Receives and records bequest notifications * Administrates thank you responses for bequest notifications * Gathers and prepares monthly reports of bequest notifications Non-Cash Gifts/ IRA Charitable Rollovers: * Is a proactive Focus on the Family advocate encouraging appropriate donors to give to us from their IRA * Administrates IRA Charitable Rollover gifts * Works with the Gift Planning Officer on the marketing strategy and content for IRA Charitable Rollover campaigns * Maintains an accurate record of IRA Charitable Rollover gifts in our donor data base * Gathers and prepares monthly reports of IRA Charitable Rollover gifts of Business or Real Estate: * Is a proactive Focus on the Family advocate encouraging appropriate donors to give a gift from their business or real estate * Maintains a working knowledge of business and real estate gifts in order to refer donors to the appropriate gift solution Charitable Gift Annuities * Is a proactive Focus on the Family advocate encouraging appropriate donors to open a Charitable Gift Annuity with Focus on the Family * Handles in-bound gift annuity calls and prospects, creating personalized illustrations for donors * Manages the follow up process for gift annuity prospects Develops and maintains familiarity with issues of taxation and valuation of outright gifts and deferred gifts Communicates with attorneys, trustees, and executors to complete transfers of estate gifts Maintains an in depth understanding of the ministry's core programs and initiatives Identifies needs of donors through high value questions and interpersonal communication Cultivates relationships for further engagement; responding to initial contact by donor, answers questions, and gives direction and provides educational resources for appropriate gift types Works through follow up process until completion of gifts; communicates appreciation and a desire to serve donors Other Duties/Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job: None Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Office environment JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Character/Spiritual: Exemplifies Ephesians 5:1-2, "Therefore be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us..."
