A career in Sales and Marketing, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to focus on positioning a distinctive PwC brand in the marketplace and drive long term revenue growth for the Firm. You'll focus on designing, developing, and implementing communication programmes and media events to promote and sell the PwC's brand and services as well as contribute to and evaluating our pricing strategies in the marketplace. Our Marketing and Public Relations team is responsible for PwC's external media relations and social media strategy. As part of our team, you'll help with social media account management, media relationship management, and identifying new and emerging opportunities for the Firm.

Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in understanding of media strategy at a national and global level, preferably with a professional services firm, a financial services entity or working at a public relations agency, and proven success in roles managing others to accomplish key objectives, including the following areas:

  • Developing media and campaign strategies with a focus on corporate responsibility, diversity, and sustainability and oversight of their execution;

  • Emphasizing the management of multiple external communications initiatives at the same time and strategies focused on business objectives, including launching reports to the media, working with spokespeople on media interviews, leveraging industry events, and responding to unsolicited media requests;

  • Showcasing familiarity with new media platforms including social media outlets such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and social media platforms and databases, such as Gorkana, Meltwater;

  • Showcasing familiarity with tracking software, such as Google News, Dow Jones News Retrieval/Factiva, other interactive platforms, including YouTube, Google Plus, and others;

  • Highlighting knowledge of digital communications techniques, communications trends and industry-leading practices, with a focus on integrated communications strategy;

  • Understanding professional services industry and it's business, realized through the successful protection and promotion PwC's external brand via professional judgment and decision-making;

  • Leading strategies related to corporate responsibility, diversity and sustainability, including advising leadership on how to respond to adverse public scrutiny or the potential for the same, while collaborating with the media directly in these situations;

  • Helping reporters and editors understand facts, context, and its client's narrative and messages;

  • Understanding and accepting PR as a powerful and crucial business tool;

  • Maintaining solid media contacts at the local and national levels within the diversity/corporate responsibility space, as well as proactively identifying additional reporter contacts valuable to the Firm and developing them across traditional media, such as top-tier print and broadcast, service, industry and/or geographic trade publications, and new media platforms and social media outlets, such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook;

  • Building and maintaining relationships with highest levels of leadership, with emphasis on managing through a high-matrix organization and service providers;

  • Being regarded as an industry-leading communicator, writer, and strategist, including utilizing writing skills to translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand, compelling messaging;

  • Leading, managing, coaching and developing external communications managers primarily tasked with the day-to-day execution of the strategies; and,

  • Managing on-going external communications strategy and driving change by collaborating with other Marketing and Sales professionals.

Communication takes place via several channels to include print, video, electronic, meetings and social media. Responsibilities include: Drafting and/or editing speeches/scripts, PowerPoint presentations, articles, memos/letters, FAQs and other correspondence; managing field communications via the company Intranet; meeting planning; and enhancing processes related to communications. This is a highly visible position that interacts with senior level executives throughout the organization. In addition, the position interacts with all departments on key initiatives to provide assistance relative to internal or external communications. Departments may include: Operations (Sales, Customer Care, and Marketing), Finance Operations, Human Resources, Benefits and Investor Relations. The position also interacts with outside contacts (i.e. department vendors). Organizational Relationships: This position reports directly to the Manager of Communications, with extensive interaction across multi-functions, including, store operations, IT, vendors and key corporate Executives. Job Responsibilities: * Develop and implement overall communications strategy for internal and external audiences with the goal of effectively promoting the vision of AutoNation, increasing visibility, and distinguishing AutoNation as an industry leader. * Assist in maximizing use of key communications channels to promote and publicize the work of AutoNation, including developing story ideas, drafting articles, managing. * Assist with theme development; preparation and coordination of presentations, scripts and other media needs; participant rosters; logistics; travel schedules; event management; budget tracking; coordination with Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Investor Relations as needed. * Support development and execution of special projects. * Participates in optimizing communication department flow. * Assists with facilitation/coordination of internal events such as the annual Retail Leadership Conference, Headquarter Associate Meetings, and the Summer Field Tour. * Active in continuous process improvement. Identifies opportunities to streamline communication functions from an efficiency and cost standpoint as well as methods to increase effectiveness of communications (format, frequency, content, etc). Qualifications: * A four-year college degree in Communications, Marketing or Business. * 3-5 years of related work experience including involvement with senior management. * Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). * Exceptionally strong communication and interpersonal skills, preferably with experience in a client-facing or customer service capacity. * Examples of written communications is required. * Experience working in a fast-moving, demanding environment with proven track record of meeting tight deadlines and ensuring timely follow-ups with inbound questions and requests. * Ability to communicate effectively with others across all levels of the organization, including excellent interpersonal, presentation and delivery skills. * Ability to effectively formulate and execute messages and strategies using a variety of communication vehicles. * Strong attention to detail. * Ability to travel (less than 20%).
