PURPOSE: Participate in the design, development and maintenance of firmware for products such as welding power supplies, engine driven generators, plasma cutters, and industrial automation equipment.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
Programming 32-bit microcontrollers in C using Real-Time Operating Systems
Reading and interpreting electronic schematics and component data sheets
Some PC tool development using C# and/or C++
Testing and documentation of firmware designs
Testing and debugging communications within industrial automation networks (e.g. CAN, Ethernet/IP), Internet protocols (e.g. HTTP, FTP), and wireless (e.g. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth).
Minimum four-year engineering degree is required. Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years engineering experience
Must have industry experience writing C for embedded platforms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organization skills.
Initiative to take ownership of product designs.
Knowledge of power electronics and/or motor controls a plus.
