What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop code base to run bench top electromechanical instrumentation

  • Document code, including theory of operation, architecture, and communication protocols

  • Assist with writing test protocols for V&V activity

  • Manage version control environment

  • Assist with I/O decisions on electrical schematics

What You Need for this Position

  • Bachelors Degree

At Least 3 Years of experience and knowledge of:

  • C-based IDE programming

  • Motion Actuators

  • Real-time Embedded Systems

  • Motion Controls

  • Microchip's PIC Processor (bonus points if you have this!)

  • Firmware experience
    *Must be open to relocating to Ann Arbor, MI (relo assistance provided)

Micron Technology's Minneapolis, Minnesota office is seeking a firmware engineer with a strong background in C/C++ language programming to develop controller firmware for non-volatile storage devices. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of technical skills in addition to being organized, process oriented, and self-motivated. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Participate as a team member and work effectively inside and outside of the team. Demonstrate proficiency in coding skills, verification/validation, simulation, failure analysis, ASIC/FPGA/System bring-up, and the use of tools that support these activities. Validate customer requirements and perform failure analysis on FW related issues. Develop structured source code targeting the embedded environment associated with state of the art memory. Perform design verification using a variety of verification methods, including simulation and product testing. Minimum Qualifications: * Experience with assembly level and C language development including the tools used to edit, compile/assemble and debug code in an embedded environment * Python programming * Strong documentation skills. * Experience working with real-time operating systems * Strong communication skills * Ability to work both individually and as part of a team * Excellent time management skills Preferred Qualifications: * Prior design engineering experience * Understand hardware at the component level. * Experience working with I2C and SPI protocols * Experience with memory interfaces. * Xilinx/Altera FPGA development environment.
