Scope of Work
Under direct supervision, this position protects lives and property by performing firefighting, emergency medical, hazardous materials, and fire prevention duties and maintains all fire equipment, apparatus and facilities
Essential Job Duties
Base Salary Range:
$60,652.00 Annually
Up to $79,984 Annually DOE*
DOE - Years of experience will be credited for anyone with at least 1 year of service with a paid department (non-volunteer) that have not been separated from the paid department (non-volunteer) for more than six months upon appointment.
Incentives Above Base Salary:
EMT - $75.00/month
Paramedic - $500.00/month
Associates - $99.00 - 250.00/month Depending on Degree Possessed
Bachelors - $180.00 - $400.00/month Depending on Degree Possessed
Language Proficiency - $200.00/month

Applicant must meet or successfully pass the following qualifiers during the selection period:

Drug and Alcohol Screening

Psychological Examination
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Be between the ages of 18 and 35, having not met the 36th birthday at the time of appointment
Valid Driver's License (Must obtain a Texas Class B Driver's License within 6 Months of Appointment)
Current Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Structural Firefighter Certification or have IFSAC Seals in FFI, FFII, Hazmat Awareness and Hazmat Operations.
TDSHS EMT-B Certification or NREMT certification (TDSHS Paramedic or NR Paramedic preferred)
Ability to speak, read, and write the English Language
