As an Optimization Manager you will be responsible for managing assigned consulting engineers and providing technical expertise related to inspection, assessment, and integrity optimization of fired equipment assets primarily in, but not limited to, the process refinery industry. As managing engineer, this position emphasizes the bundling between all the Quest offerings, both inspection and engineering services.

As a Fired Heater Integrity Optimization Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing assigned consulting engineers in the integrity optimization management of fired equipment.

  • Providing consulting services related to the integrity optimization management of fired equipment that includes performance and reliability optimization, fitness for service and remaining life assessment, risk assessment, and failure analysis.

  • Providing technical and training consulting services with respect to CorrectIR application and implementation, including management of assigned client licenses.

  • Providing product support for and development of software applications related to the integrity optimization management of fired equipment (e.g., LifeQuest Heater, LifeQuest Reformer, CorrectIR) by working closely with the software business team.

  • Providing leadership and mentoring to junior Assessment Engineers.

  • Maintaining proficiencies in other Advanced Engineering service roles as applicable (e.g., Inspector, Risk and Failure Analysis, and Assessment Engineer) and provide project support for other business teams as requested.

  • Engaging in and contributing to business development within Advanced Engineering and other business teams as requested.

  • Providing technical and project management support to Process and other business teams as requested.

  • Managing client expectations and delivery of services and communicate to client results and recommendations.

  • Seeking out technical knowledge that establishes industry credibility and subject matter expertise in fired equipment by presenting and participating in industry recognized conferences, training and events.

  • Providing recommendations to drive improvement in processes, technical solutions, inspection and assessment technology, and software applications.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Engineering degree or applied science. Minimum of 10 additional years of experience in Operations.

  • Be able to travel internationally up to 33% of the time.

  • Have knowledge of internationally recognized design codes and industry standards on inspection and assessment services for process equipment

  • Have knowledge of internationally recognized design codes and industry standards on inspection and assessment services for process equipment, including API and ASME.

  • Be able to document, plan, market, and execute programs

  • Must have excellent computer skills

  • Must be proficient in English (verbal and written)
