Duties

Summary

You will serve as a FIRE SUPPORT SPECIALIST (REMOTELY PILOTED AIRCRAFT) in the Joint Fires Division of COMNAVSPECWARDEVGRU.
Responsibilities

You will develop tactics, techniques, and procedures for remotely piloted aircraft development and experimentation in support of special operations forces.
You will operate remotely piloted aircraft command and control systems, and perform coordination with supporting units during exercises
You will conduct exercises with geographic combatant commands and their components to maintain staff and flying unit proficiency for precision strike missions using remotely piloted aircraft.
You will develop program technical and mission documentation on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) technology issues.
You will assist in identifying shortcomings, voids, gaps, and inconsistencies in remotely piloted aircraft equipment and process developments.

Selectee must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license, and must be licensed and able to drive government vehicles including large trucks and forklifts, etc. when necessary to facilitate mission completion.
Selectee must be able to travel overseas on short notice as required by the Commander and/or Operations Officer.
Selectee may also be required to travel on military or civilian aircraft or waterborne craft, deploy onboard ships, or serve at remote sites as required.
Selectee may be required to travel or perform temporary additional duty assignments on short notice for approximately 30% of the time both inside and outside the Continental U.S in executing assigned technical advisory or consultation duties
Selectee may be authorized to carry a weapon as required and must therefore be qualified with the weapon. This position is covered by the domestic violence amendment (Lautenberg Amendment) to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
Selectee may be exposed to hazardous or hostile environments and may be authorized special/danger pay as provided by the Department of State, the Office of Personnel Management, or other agency regulations.
Selectee is required to report to the command when requested.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Eight years experience in tactics, techniques, and procedures for Remotely Piloted Aircraft development and experimentation, and four years experience in special operations forces - remotely piloted aircraft integration is preferred.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing tactics, techniques, procedures, processes, training and command and control duties for remotely piloted aircraft strike support applications and systems. PPP Pilot Program: The Special Warfare Commands are operating under an approved reengineered Priority Placement Program (PPP) Pilot for all positions in its serviced workforce.

This pilot is application based and current PPP registrants who are registered for activity codes 838A, 270A and 271A (regardless of the location) and are interested in placement at one of these activities must apply to the job announcement via USAJobs in order to exercise their priority placement status. This pilot permits priority candidates to be assessed with other competitive applicants. Anyone claiming priority status must provide a copy of their PPP registration and supporting documentation (e.g.
