Tesla has an outstanding opportunity available for Fire Response Specialists to join the team at our Sparks, NV Gigafactory. Fire Response Specialists are expected to monitor the fire alarm panel, safely minimize losses associated with fire, support emergency response operations, coordinate maintenance of fire protection systems, and conduct life safety training. During his/her assigned shift, the Fire Response Specialist is responsible to carry out assignments pertaining to emergency and life safety system, equipment maintenance and safety checks.

Responsibilities

  • Attend training sessions as required by Tesla, read and understand assigned materials related to emergency medical care, firefighting and fire prevention.

  • Respond to emergency calls (HAZMAT, fire, medical)

  • Provide training to team members or Tesla employees.

  • Performs general inspection, testing, and maintenance on life safety and emergency response equipment.

  • Accurately maintain and complete all required documentation.

  • Studies the location of building layout, fire hydrants, sprinkler systems, alarm systems and Knox boxes.

  • Identify, track and help mitigate life safety concerns.

  • Follow and relay instructions and information quickly and accurately.

  • Troubleshoot fire alarm system and fire suppression system issues

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Current EMT-Basic certification or higher.

  • Hazardous Materials Operations level with decon preferred.

  • Must be comfortable in confined spaces and wearing a SCBA.

  • 3 years' experience as a firefighter with Firefighter I and/or II certifications preferred.

  • Ability to communicate concisely, clearly and effectively in both written and verbal form.

  • Must be able to initially and annually pass a physical test similar to the CPAT.

  • Must complete medical questionnaire.

  • Ability to act in accordance with Tesla requirements as well as State and Federal laws, regulations, operational procedures, policies and statutes.

  • Valid Class C Drivers License preferred.

  • Industrial Firefighting certification preferred.

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 75lbs or more with assistance.

The Workplace Manager helps to lead Tesla's Workplace team and further our mission by creating an environment for high performing teams that allows them to realize their true potential. Responsibilities * Lead the Workplace Team at Gigafactory Nevada. * Align with Construction and Design teams to review project scope, program space, create cost estimates, submit for budget approval, and support with build outs for large construction projects supporting Workplace operations. * Engage stakeholders and those affected by projects to ensure they understand and approve the coming changes and how it will impact them. Prepare reports for key stakeholders and site leadership regarding the status of the project. * Provide support for production at the factory with bullpens, tents, labs, and large scale equipment relocations * Oversee all operations programs related to mail, janitorial, culinary, and reception; Support Transportation, Environmental Health & Safety, and Culinary programs * Manage budget and spend for Operations, Janitorial, and Shipping & Receiving departments * Oversee internal office moves and new hire coordination, seating plans, blocking plans, department head count verifications, space requests and hotel desk management * Manage event coordination by creating action lists, event schedules, allocating team support, and managing budgets. Develop and maintain metrics to track number of projects, budgets, schedules and performance for all responsibilities * Partner with Recruiting and HR to provide support with New Hire Orientations, Batch Interviews, and Recruiting/Networking events across multiple sites * Oversee the creation and implementation of standards in partnership with other Workplace sites to ensure continuity throughout the Workplace team * Help to guide the development and personal growth for all direct reports, including performance reviews * Ensure clear communication including site-wide emails, digital or physical signage, etc. to stakeholders and/or employees about how the project will impact them.
