Fire Protection Engineer

Overview

SRS / Heritage is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer with at least 5 years of design experience providing fire protection engineering services for the Building Products, Landscape and Pool verticals.

Responsibilities

• Will provide fire protection engineering support for all 3 business verticals

• Must be able to independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments

• Will work on multiple projects of moderate scope with complex features at the same time

• Ensures internal communication and coordination of project efforts occurs

• Coordinate all support activities required to complete all project efforts and quality assurance processes

• Work with other disciplines to ensure accuracy of the projects, meet timelines and budget commitments

• Prepare fee proposals for fire protection project work in conjunction with fire engineering consultants

Required Skills/Abilities

• 5 years of experience designing fire protection systems and NFPA 400

• Experience performing fire hazard analysis

• Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices

• Experience with building and fire safety code analysis, fire dynamic analysis, and fire risk analysis is required

• Experience interfacing with vendors

• Proficiency with MS Office

Education

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET‐accredited college or university with a focus in Fire protection and/or Life Safety engineering degree with experience in fire protection
