What you will do

The basic function of this position is to professionally provide a complicated level of technical support and the highest level of customer service while servicing, inspecting and installing fire alarms.

How you will do it

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals and specifications used in installation activities.

  • Must be able to test and certify electronics systems including fire alarm, security, CCTV and access control.

  • Provide detailed feedback to management concerning customer issues.

  • Exhibit effective customer service skills, by consistently communicating with the district support team, district management, and our customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

  • Carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds. Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces above ceilings, etc.

  • Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures to ensure all duties are performed in a safe and professional manner.

What we look for

Required

  • NICET Level II or higher Fire Alarm certification REQUIRED

  • Proficient in use and application of personal computers including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • May be required to work overtime, including weekends and holidays to respond to emergency situations.

  • Must be able to work alternative shifts or work nights.

  • Working knowledge of test equipment, to include multi-meters, digital analyzers, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters and communication devices.

  • Must obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and local codes.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements. Must conform with all Fleet standards.

  • Must be able to lift equipment and tools up to 40 lbs. and be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.

  • Must have excellent communications skills using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with employees, employers, customers and authorities having jurisdiction in English both written and verbally.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment security, drug and background check.

VIEW JOBS 1/27/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-04-27T00:00 What you will do Perform routine, testing, servicing, testing, commissioning installing and preventative maintenance of life safety product lines including Fire Alarms, CCTV and Access Controls. Position will support the Columbus, GA area How you will do it * Perform installation activities on electrical fire alarm systems * Manage service issues on-site to ensure fiscal requirements are met * Identify and sell basic product enhancements to customers * Troubleshoot systems and perform necessary repairs * Effectively service panels all makes and models of fire alarm panels * Lead scheduled work and direct technician of a lower grade as needed * Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operational/product manuals * Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing as well as troubleshoot problems * Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost effective methods to return equipment to working order What we look for Required * Minimum 5+ Years Experience in low voltage fire alarms, CCTV or Access Controls * Knowledgeable of provincial building & fire codes for inspection proposes * Advance knowledge of Simplex product lines and demonstrated proficiency in Fire Alarm or Security or Nurse Call products * Demonstrated ability to train less knowledgeable technicians or customers * Demonstrated high level of customer service * Ability to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and routine details * Ability to present information through the spoken or written word, read and read and interprets complex information * Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 40lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding * Possess a valid motor vehicle license (Class G) * Prefer NICET Certifications Prefered * NICET Certifications Who we are Supportive team environment and add to that a competitive salary, best in class benefits package starting on day 1, which includes medical, dental & vision, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, paid time off and career growth opportunities.
