Job Description

JOINT Automated Systems are tools that help provide strategic coordination and situational awareness at the tactical levels of combat. As a Fire Control Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to integrate and process information from multiple users by utilizing the JOINT system and other automated systems used by the Army National Guard.

Job training for a Fire Control Specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field under simulated combat conditions.

This position is involved in process improvement, team facilitation, coaching and change management. They acts as an internal consultant for all levels of the hospital and serves as primary contact for assigned service lines/departments. They promote safe and infection free environment for patients, employees, physicians, and visitors through surveillance, intervention, prevention, and educational activities. They will deploy the organization's quality improvement program using quality tools and methods, facilitation expertise, objective collaboration and process improvement methods. Uses data decision making tools to support organizational decisions and ensure regulatory compliance; identifies opportunities for improvement and raise organizational performance. They work collaboratively with operational and medical staff leaders to implement strategies for process and outcome improvement. They are knowledgeable about accreditation and certification standards. They support Peer Review processes as assigned. * Alabama RN or Industrial Engineer degree, or Medical Technologist(ASCP) or Masters Degree combined with 3-5 years relative clinical experience required. Minimum 3-5 years of hospital experience required. 1-3 years of performance improvement (PI) preferred. Previous experience in the application of process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma, PDSA/PDCA, data collection, data analysis and team facilitation skills preferred. CPHQ or equivalent is required within one year in position (if individual has 3 years of PI experience). If no previous PI experience, CPHQ or equivalent is required within three years in position. Must obtain certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) within 2 years.Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficient in use of databases (e.g. MIDAS) and electronic data warehouse. Data analysis skills. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-directed and highly motivated with problem solving abilities. Broad knowledge of hospital systems and standards of care; Strong working knowledge of team development, functions and group dynamics; Knowledge of adult learning principles; Ability and skills to facilitate performance improvement teams.
