Job Description

JOINT Automated Systems are tools that help provide strategic coordination and situational awareness at the tactical levels of combat. As a Fire Control Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to integrate and process information from multiple users by utilizing the JOINT system and other automated systems used by the Army National Guard.

Job training for a Fire Control Specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field under simulated combat conditions.

NOTE: mainly to be utilized in screening high profile projects at significant intervals (Not to take the place of chemist performing their own day to day sprayout's). * Assist in establishing application guidelines and controls to include product, equipment and environmental recommendations in R&T and communicates the aparameters to Technical Services and customers. * Conceives and develops solutions to product application problems through industry accepted knowledge, techniques, practices and procedures. Observes and develops theories based on coating application processes in customer trials and actual aircraft painting application; provides feedback to R&T organization in product and process design and incorporates customer requirements and practices into application development process. Performs physical tasks of disassembling, troubleshooting, assembling, troubleshooting and operating coating application systems. * Assist in the collection and analyzes data, identifies problems and develops effective solutions through use of design of experiment; root cause analysis and resolution. Promptly relays information using Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) to appropriate team members for distribution and dissemination. Maintains accurate records of procedures and data for future reference. * Works with secured launch champion in defining application customer requirements, designing test matrix, executing test matrix with R&T/technical service and outlining product application boundaries. * Puts together customer application manuals for new product launches * Effectively communicates results, develops corrective procedures, writes, validates and distributes other technical information to appropriate technical development, management, sales and customer representatives through appropriate channels (Engineering Services, etc). * Must be able to travel 25% of time to customer trials and product launches, including weekends. * Minimum 3-5 years applicable mechanical spray application experience in or equivalent is required. * Working knowledge of word, excel and PowerPoint software. * Responsible for the R&T spray equipment upkeep * Must be able to obtain and maintain a state motor vehicle driver license; must be able to travel to customer sites throughout the world. * Work in conjunction with R&T lab teams, and field technical service to establish and implement process, product improvements and insure information is relayed accurately to customer. * During product development – Insure all pertinent application data is collected and appropriately tabulated * Reports to R&T coatings technology manager * Ability to effectively plan and execute work schedule with minimal oversite of direct supervisor is required.
