Fire Alarm Tech with some programming experience
The Fire Alarm Programmer must be a self-starter, result-oriented, and accept responsibility for achieving desired results. The candidate will be able to read blueprints, understand, and apply customer specifications and follow written and verbal directions. The Fire Alarm Programmer will be certified in EST. NICET, Extinguisher, and Sprinkler Systems certifications also desired.
General Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Programming of EST Systems a must
Provide both formal and informal training as required by installation contract or end-users
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and present a professional image.
Must possess critical thinking skills as well as the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentation(s).
Must be able to act as the company liaison for the interface with customer representative(s).
Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other service documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
Must be able to work at various heights using a ladder and in confined spaces, must be able to lift 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds
Regular attendance is mandatory
Tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle-nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves. Punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, tone set, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, and Krone/3M/BIX.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field and demonstrate the ability to supervise others.
Must have demonstrated the ability to work with and communicate directly with customers and end-users.
EST Certification programmer/trouble-shooter level required.
Work independently or as a team member.
Able to lead a team and train co-workers.
Must be able to read prints, understand and apply customer specifications
Possess good troubleshooting and communication skills, be computer literate, and have a clean driving record.
Must have Fire Alarm System hand tools, including multi-meter, and be able to use these tools effectively.
Knowledge / Experience with other fire alarm systems
Needs to be enrolled with NICET
Extinguisher certification / experience
Sprinkler systems certifications / experience
