Summary
Responsible for producing accurate bid packages for life safety systems and/or service of low voltage fire alarm systems in new and existing buildings in all types of construction, using conduit, hangers, wires, alarm devices, and panels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage the estimating process from beginning to end, including timelines, deadlines and estimating packages.
Communicate with vendors and clients to build relationships, define the project scope, address deficiencies, and negotiate pricing.
Read blueprints of low voltage systems and how they relate to the layout of a building.
May install, service and repair systems, including, drilling and pulling cable through access holes, roof spaces, wall cavities, conduit, j-hooks, bridle rings, etc.
May be required to assist in the inspection of installation sites, study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures under the supervision of a project manager or superintendent.
Establish and maintain good working relationships between co-workers, customers, and suppliers.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-2 years Estimating and 3-5 years installation experience in electrical construction, Journeymans or Masters license a plus. Experience or education/training with alarm or security systems or other electrical systems, electrical wiring and NEC (National Electric Code) and NFPA 72; NICET I or II preferred.
Computer Skills
Basic computer skills; experience working with laptop and/or iPad.
Additional Requirements
Pre-employment Drug screen and clean MVR.
