  • The essential roles and responsibilities are outlined below:
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installation and preventative maintenance of life safety (fire detection, security, CCTV, & monitoring) product lines.
  • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve via physical equipment installation or software changes.
  • Possess or ability to obtain knowledge of NFPA, State, and local fire codes and become NICET certified.
  • Ability to program systems via laptop using minor to complex equations and thought processes (MSS will provide factory training).
  • Knowledge of computer networking, IP addressing, and connectivity.
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical, including troubleshooting skills and instruments.
  • Knowledge of, or desire to learn security systems and CCTV.
  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
  • Input, retrieve and archive inspection documentation program via the laptop computer.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction for continual company growth.
  • Complete assigned tasks on time with little supervision.
  • Support emergency service call-out on a rotational basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Requirements
  • Two years experience in commercial / industrial fire alarm systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word documents pertaining to inspection reporting.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and parts manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to work on lifts and ladders
  • Must possess hand tools
  • Must be willing to travel within NC/SC for day trips and work extended hours as needed.Key Requirements
  • Regular and supervisory probation period required, if applicable.
  • Random drug testing required.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
Must Have
  • 2+ of fire alarm system design engineering experience in an industrial/commercial environment. Residential experience is NOT a good fit.
  • Should be able to clear any security background checks.
  • A valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and parts manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage
  • Must be willing to travel within NC/SC for day trips and work extended hours as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Nice to Have:
  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification. If the candidate does not have this certification, they must be able to obtain the certification within the first 6 months of joining.
  • Knowledge of Building and NFPA fire Code requirements for fire alarm, security, and CCTV systems.
  • Knowledge of Honeywell Notifier Products or related product - Fire Alarm systems, Security and CCTV Alarm systems

This position is responsible for service and construction project management (as needed) of fire alarm systems, as well as other types of low voltage systems. This position requires several years of experience and knowledge related to service and programming of fire alarm systems. Candidates should have experience with NFPA 72 and NFPA 70 codes as they relate to the system installation of fire alarm, CCTV, security, access control, and basic electrical systems. Special hazards fire suppression systems experience is a plus. FCI, Notifier, Fire-Lite and Fike experience are all required. Vista 128/250, Silent Knight, EST and Fenwal experience are preferred but not required. NICET Level I certification in Fire Alarm Systems is desired with the ability to obtain NICET Level II certification within two years of employment. The position requires excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete forms/documents and read/comprehend drawings and schematics. Demonstrated PC skills are a must. The ability to work flexible schedules is required in order to meet customer requirements. This position will be expected to interact and communicate in a professional manner not only within the organization but also with customers.
