The Role

The Business Development Director will partner closely with the NA Market Leaders in our Financial Services markets within our business lines with Executive Search, Professional Search, Marquee Accounts across North America within our Projects division. This is a newly created position that will partner with other Market Leaders to uncover FinTech business opportunities. This position will also be responsible for helping define and execute on the overall growth plans through both internal and external clients with an emphasis on developing partnerships in collaborating with other leaders to conduct sales pitches with Fortune 500 companies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, develop and execute marketing and business development activities in order to achieve short and longterm revenue and profitability goals.

  • Work across the Company (Executive Search, Professional Search, Advisory and Marquee Accounts) to develop go-to-market analyses by market for Projects solutions.

  • Be the "go-to" team member focused on marketing and business development coordination in the Fintech sector to prospect, identify, conduct and participate in sales presentations for possible IT projects with a consultative approach.

  • Responsible for production of external and internal collateral materials, pitch-decks, and targeted solution narratives in Salesforce.

  • Develop an understanding of the marketplace and competitor offerings-MUST have Fintech market knowledge.

  • Work with Projects leadership team and North America Market Leaders to develop client proposals that effectively communicate relevant capabilities and value propositions plus be able to create, draft and shape the RFP.

  • Develop and regularly maintain a business development pipeline reporting structure (e.g. Salesforce) of new and potential clients. This includes assessing the validity of identified projects.

  • Understand Projects offerings and be able to effectively communicate them to potential internal and external customers.

  • Assist with, and lead as directed, sales related activities to include virtual and in-person client presentations, proposal development and follow-up. (Periodic travel will be required.)

  • Complete commercial and financial pro-forma analysis of potential projects as well as look back reviews of completed projects

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required with a preference for Business or Marketing concentration

  • 10+ years of overall business experience, with a strong preference for that experience gained in IT and specifically business development with Fintech talent acquisition or consulting firms.

  • Strong commercial skillset with a demonstrated track record of performance in consultative selling.

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and self-directed

  • Able to manage time, prioritize with follow up and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills consistent with engaging senior level decision makers in client organizations.

  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Familiarity with Salesforce.

  • Excellent presentation skills to present to C-Suite level clients with Fortune 500 companies.

  • Sell B2B and tech savvy to work and consult with complex selling solutions

  • Prefer Director to be located in our New York City office

  • Consulting or Retained Search business development experience is preferred
