Finishing Supervisor

Summary of Position

The Finishing Supervisor oversees the day-to-day activities in the Flexographic Finishing Department. The Finishing Supervisor's responsibilities include ensuring his/her team produces products that meet the quality standards and delivery dates required by our customers. In addition, the Finishing Supervisor has responsibility for the development, training, performance, and discipline of staff. Lastly, the Finishing Supervisor is the key improvement leader for their area helping to identify, lead, and solve problems through the lean management process.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments and directly supervise the finishing staff, which includes but is not limited to: biweekly payroll preparation, approving vacation requests, performance appraisals, administer disciplinary action, etc.

  • Prepare and post key process metrics at the lean management zone board on a daily basis.

  • Through the use of the lean management system, analyze the finishing operations and recommend methods and processes to improve productivity and quality

  • Operate all equipment as necessary to fulfill production needs

  • Act as technical resource to internal departments to address and resolve inquiries, problems and complaints

  • Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure timely resolution of Customer complaints as well as internal hold notices.

  • Ensure that 6S concepts are applied and adhered to within their work area.

  • Ensure weekly maintenance is performed as required.

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Preferred Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Business Administration

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in related department

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred

  • Positive attitude, strong ability to coach and lead a team, as well as excellent time management skills

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
