Position Summary:

Supervise all activities and personnel on a shift in the finishing area of the cold end. Interfaces with the Melting, Maintenance, Quality, Shipping, Production Support and Forming departments to ensure proper production, selection, and quality of the product.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise, provide guidance, and develop all hourly shift personnel

• Responsible for safety, housekeeping and 5S in the Department and enforcing those rules

• Responsible for maintaining production selects, OEE and quality at the given rates, time cards (E-Time), labor reports, attendance records, overtime lists, production reports, and period reports

• Drive and Maintain Lean Systems that are in place. Responsible for downtime reduction and sustainment.

• Be a Leader in Safety and with the approval of the Department supervisor develop and implement programs that improve safety, selections, and/or ware quality.

Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred

Minimal 4 to 5 years manufacturing supervisory experience in a fast-paced union environment

Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles

Ability to make decisions, troubleshoot, problem solve and multi-task

Good verbal/written communication skills

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Must be available to work a 12-hour shift that rotates quarterly

Knowledge of 5S and 6-Sigma programs (preferred)

Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word/Outlook (preferred)
