The Finishing Operator is responsible for fabricating and packaging bags according to specifications and for performing other support assignments as determined by area management.
Operate bag machines Supply bag machines with materials Palletize finished product for shipping Perform quality assurance tests Maintain product quality and standard in keeping with order copy and tech specs. Take corrective action where possible to maximize run-time.
Notify area supervision whenever the Bag Machine is not able to operate according to quality or mechanical reasons. The Bag Machine Operator will report any unsafe operating conditions on the sealer to the Finishing Area shift leaders. On occasion, job duties other than those specifically listed above will be assigned.
While performing all job duties, safe work practices must be maintained. Must understand and follow all Product Safety guidelines as determined by Area Management.
Ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to follow guidelines in setting up orders to specifications, order copy and tech specs. Ability to work a 12 hour rotating shift.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Training manuals. Other Bag Machine Operators.
Area management and co-workers. Quality Assurance Area mechanics. Production Schedulers.
This position has direct responsibility for the efficient performance of assigned tasks. A considerable inspect can be made on operating costs and customer satisfaction in terms of safety, quality, on-time performance, productivity and waste.
Must be able to stand, walk up and down stairs for up to 12 hours per day. Must be able to lift and carry 60
pounds. Ergonomics are 95% standing or walking and 0% sitting and 5% using a keyboard.
Must be able to communicate in order to receive instruction and training, and instruct, train, or assist employees. Must be able to twist, turn, bend, kneel, squat and work at a rapid pace. Must have 20/20 vision with correction for inspecting.
Must not be sensitive to powder. Must be able to wear ear plugs to limit exposure to loud noise. Reasonable accommodations may be considered on a case by case basis.
Medium Work. Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
