The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material throughout the site. This may include loading/unloading of trailers and movement of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods. You will work night shift 7pm-7am on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Activities and duties may vary dependent upon site specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Move material to/from raw, WIP, Finished, Shipping, Receiving, and manufacturing areas.

  • Unload/load trucks/tankers with incoming/outgoing materials. - Verify materials against receiving/shipping documents.

  • Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System.

  • Support inventory accuracy: Complete warehouse and departmental cycles counts and correct discrepancies and help manage winding drum and rack inventories

  • Raw/Finishing warehouse: Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies to/from production areas as required. Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to all safety polices. Encourage others to do so. Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity.

  • Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed.

  • Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department/shift employees to ensure effective operations.

  • Lead in the recycling of pallets, cardboard, and scrap materials.

  • Support all 5S housekeeping activities.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

You may be assigned to duties that include: packaging slit rolls to customer specifications, operating the manual packaging line, cutting cores, banding, etc. This requires the understanding of Avery Dennison standard packaging practices and the Exact program packing requirements. Higher level roles in the Finishing operations include the operation of slitting, rewinding and/or automated packaging equipment. You will work night shift (7pm to 7am) on a 2-2-3 schedule.
