Job Description:

As a member of the Batavia leadership team, the Finishing & Logistics Manager has overall responsibility for the Litho Finishing Department, Flexo Finishing Department, and the Warehouse & Logistics Team.

Primary responsibilities include:

Safety: Instill a sense of self-responsibility for safety among associates. Assure the safety of the associates and safe use of the equipment. Support the safety processes and programs of the facility.

Metrics: Monitor Plant operating metrics. When applicable, create actions to accomplish the Plant's goals and objectives.

Financial: Assist with the development of the Plant's financial and capital budget. Monitor performance results against budget and when necessary take the appropriate action.

Operations: Support the growth of the Plant by developing operational capability and capacity through leveraging technologies and people, including communicating the operations vision.

Culture: Create a customer-centered culture for the Plant.

Customer Relationship: Build strong customer relationships through managing service to the customers and supporting sales efforts.

Capacity: Create, establish and manage the capacity of the operation to meet fluctuating customer demands and for growth of the Plant, optimizing profitability.

Technical Knowledge:
Develop and continually expand technical knowledge of processes, and when necessary, problem solve for continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement, focused and data based.

People: Build a high performing team to instill ownership of Plant objectives through selection, performance assessments, training and development of associates.

Quality: Optimize the production process to assure that quality is built-in, not inspected in. Quality levels must meet customer requirements.

Values: Model the Corporate Values and Principles, including instilling a high performance, people-driven culture, providing high expectations and support.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will be assertive, solution-focused, and possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus a minimum of 3 years' leadership experience preferred.

  • 5+ years of flexo printing experience with proven ability to lead a highly efficient and continually improving operation.

  • Experience with manufacturing safety programs required; safety leadership experience preferred.

  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma training with experience leading continuous improvement efforts (critical to this role); formal certification(s) a strong plus.

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • High level of accuracy, strong attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and present findings.

  • Candidate must be a self-starter with strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Experience leading projects, delegating, and seeing problems through to resolution.

  • Articulate, clear, persuasive and passionate in the spoken and written word; able to create and lead a vision with a team.

  • Strength in effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics.

  • Ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization, including diverse cultures.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to move about in offices and plants in a safe manner; some travel to customer sites and other facilities may be required.

  • Positive attitude with proven ability and passion to lead, develop, and oversee others.
