The Finish Development Project Manager supports Vapor Tech and Delta Faucet Company in achieving business strategies through extraordinary project management in our global finishing supply chain activities and New Product Development, which include capability building and improvements that enable performance, growth, and financial improvement.

Nature & Scope:

This position facilitates efforts through cross functional collaboration with key business areas to stay aligned, prioritize, and accelerate finish development activities at both our suppliers and internal operations. These are key enablers for Commodity Strategy progression and the attainment of desired team performance (Quality, Delivery, Cost improvement, New Product Development, & Strategy Progression).

This position works closely with the Delta Supply Chain and New Product Development teams in Indianapolis, Indiana and Panyu, China while coordinating actions with Quality, Engineering, Value Management, R&D, and other functional team members. The position will also have regular direct interaction with the Vapor Tech technical team, for related project management and support need activities.

The position reports directly to VaporTech (Longmont, CO), and will be positioned at Delta Faucet Company (Indianapolis, IN) for primary role support with dotted line reporting to Manager, Delta Supplier Development Project Management.


  • Develops action plans and identifies resource needs to complete projects in a timely manner.

  • Leads project management with cross functional commodity teams and partner groups.

  • Participates and leads identified continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Periodic International travel (up to 20%) to suppliers, internal manufacturing facilities, Vapor Tech, other Masco business units.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Leadership in the development and management of supplier finish development action plans, assuring timing, cross-functional alignment and resources to assertively move projects forward. May also include direct collaboration and leading action plans with Delta finishing operations and/or Vapor Tech which relate to Delta initiatives.

  • Support of Delta Commodity Team efforts to achieve performance goals and execute initiatives.

  • Lead key finish development supporting processes to ensure effective controls and standardized processes are in place and compliant.

  • Report on weekly and monthly metrics advance and/or effectively countermeasure unfavorability

  • Execute special projects / ad hoc management requests.

Education and Experience/


Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or a related area with 4-7 years of experience and at least two years applicable project management experience. A deep understanding of manufacturing processes (including qualification), quality assurance, experience working with direct material suppliers, including finishing processes (electroplating, Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), coating), is helpful for success. Experienced with continuous improvement approaches and/or lean six-sigma background is desired. Excellent written and oral communication skills with capability to lead multiple, parallel priorities is required. Shall have a strong sense of urgency and the ability and desire to function in a high-performance team environment.

Position Responsibilities Reviews and issues permits for commercial, industrial, and residential projects (ILP, Structural, Sign, Wrecking,) to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, codes, ordinances, and procedures. Resolves code, ordinance, and procedure interpretations relative to applicable requirements. Updates and maintains records on permits. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Researches and revokes when necessary, permits that have been issued in error or issued based on inaccurate information provided. Act as witness in court proceedings and/or provide legal testimony related to issued or revoked permits. Assists customers with interpretation and application of permit procedures, building codes, and zoning ordinances. Develops and implements reports. Initiates and processes enforcement actions. Receives, reviews, and issues Master permits. Receives, reviews and issues on-line Structural and Master permits. Receives, reviews, files, and maintains correspondence received from the Indiana Department of Fire and Building Services regarding projects they have released for construction. Assists in the training of new Project Development Analysts. Receives and answers inquiries received via the internet, phone, and written correspondence regarding our department, codes, ordinances and permit procedures. Receives, reviews, and directs forms necessary in submitting and receiving submittals and approvals for development within designated Wellfield districts. Communicates with Inspections, Current Planning, Information Services, Infrastructure, Township Administrators, Supervisors, and Managers regarding issues, problems and procedures with cases under review, issued permits, and revoked permits. Works with Civicnet maintaining current web related applications and the development of new web related applications. Attends meetings as part of the Tidemark Review Team and review and approve proposed changes and improvements to be implements. Presents public presentations. Investigates questions and complaints regarding problems with permits and coordinate resolution. Creates and maintains SOPs related to permit reviews, issuance, and procedures. Receives and processes requests for Zoning Verification and Zoning History letters. Attends regular training to develop and strengthen skills needed to perform job.
