This is a 24/7 position in an operation performing automated and manual classification, searching, and matching of fingerprints. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you utilize the Multi-Biometric Identification System (MBIS) to perform technical work of high-level difficulty in the analysis, classification, and identification of fingerprints, as it relates to employment fingerprint submissions. In addition, you analyze fingerprint submissions to verify correct sequencing, to enter descriptive and image data, and to make identity determinations through the analysis of side-by-side images. The results of this process will determine positive or non-positive identification of an individual. This may result in the update of existing files and records, or in the creation of a record within the Central Repository and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) files.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40-hours per week

  • Work hours are rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,944.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months of experience in the identification and non-identification of individuals through fingerprint and palm print examination, comparison, and verification; or

  • Successful completion of the fingerprint identification course offered by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Other Requirements:

  • You must possess the ability to obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
