This position will reside in Allentown, PA

What you'll get to do:

  • Assist with monthly financial / capital reporting requirements and analyses of region financial results

  • Support the development of annual budget and periodic forecasts

  • Engage in the preparation of capital process including financial modeling, spend tracking and variance analysis

  • Assist with the development of presentations to support management decisions and management review of operational and sales targets

  • Support activities of operations and sales management

  • Work closely with Shared Service organizations and Corporate Accounting ensuring efficient and effective financial processes in compliance with policies and reporting requirements

  • Participate in special studies, analyses and ad-hoc requests in support of region operations

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field required

  • Zero to five years of experience

  • Ability to use Microsoft office software products; advanced or intermediate level preferred

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to details

  • Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility and adaptability

  • A proven track record in meeting deadlines and working collaboratively as part of a team

  • Knowledge of SAP software a plus

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English.

Work Environment:

  • This position works in an office setting. Currently we are working primarily virtual, however, there are some times that employees will be in the office.

The Senior Financial Analyst is a critical position in IG-Americas Decision Support, providing essential analysis and decision support to the Industrial Gases Americas North Subregion management team. The position is aligned with the atmospherics business and asset managers but will work closely with the account management and plant operations teams. The Atmospherics business is the largest product line in the North Subregion. The business supplies liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and gaseous oxygen to major segments across the region (metals, mining, food and beverage, glass, chemicals processing, and more). The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Subregion Controller and directly support the management team. In this role the sr. financial analyst will be an active participant in driving to closure strategic initiatives, productivity actions and projects as well as provide oversight to ensure all standards are adhered to and the proper financial controls are in place. The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong leadership and influencing skills, proficiency in operational and cash flow project analysis, and comfort navigating Air Products' financial systems and tools. This position will provide and require interactions and communication with all levels of the management team and candidates should have the ability to develop and leverage relationships outside of the Business Decision Support (BDS) organization. Key responsibilities include the following: * Partner with the commercial and operation team to support business strategy development, profitability improvement efforts, customer profitability measures, planning efforts and best practice sharing * Provide analytical support and business advice to enable better decision making * Perform analysis and provide recommendations for assessments of new business opportunities as well as customer negotiations support related to existing contracts * Complete operational analysis of the asset portfolio including understanding results, identifying major factors and translating the data into important, concise and actionable information * Coordinate and support the development of the annual operating plan and strategic plans * Improve reporting by providing meaningful financial metrics and timely delivery of information to the business team Education / Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (MBA preferred) with 5-7 years of related experience in finance * Advanced excel skills * Cash flow modeling abilities * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver high quality results as agreed to * Effective interpersonal, leadership, communication, and influencing skills * Knowledge of SAP is necessary for success, with functional knowledge and ability to extract data from SAP R3, Analysis and BPC If you are dedicated and driven to achieve your objectives and company goals; have passion and commitment to get it right; have a never-ending desire to learn, improve, and contribute; then come discover, care, accomplish . . . and thrive at Air Products!
