Job Description Job Description We have an opening for a Finance Senior Applications Engineer keys for the role The client would prefer more technical than the front end, working with queries and data, can learn 3E the financial sw and develop web-enabled tools, smart and willing to learn, liaise with finance and business side but this falls under the finance department report writing, someone who understands 3E, table structure, and being SQL savvy, they can teach indexing, methodologies and creating functions, understand numbers on the front end and table structure on the back end intricacies of table joints and 3E, in prem and using integration Builder (IB) for loading data but logic is done through stored procedures and SSRS understands the Revenue side, financial metrics, like fees and progress, invoice/AR tables, creating queries on the fly, really understands billing, billing metrics, and how to pull metrics in 3E, rather than the expenses and accounting side like GL. Job Description The Finance Senior Applications Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day management and support of various enterprise solutions in close collaboration with other IT teams.

This individual is the main point of contact for the business around technical issues and support and will partner with our customers in ensuring the health and consistent growth of the systems they are responsible for. This role is part of the newly formed Applications team. It is an opportunity to help lead the introduction of various new technologies at the firm and be part of a growing and dynamic team.

This individual should be organized, and accountable and maintain a strong focus on customer service. In this capacity, the Finance Senior Applications Engineer will:

Support and drive forward enterprise applications and platforms such as BigSquare, Carpe Diem, Chrome River, eBillingHub, Elite 3E including Design Gallery, IntApp Time, Proforma, and Star Collect for the finance department; Work on application implementations, upgrades, enhancements, troubleshooting, and roadmaps; Develop in 3E IDE and Design Gallery; Conduct development activities including analysis and solution design along with hands-on development across application layers; Provide direct oversight and management of various solutions as assigned; Act as subject matter expert for those systems and provide technical support as needed. Ensure the health and stability of all solutions owned; Monitor, track, and report on performance and capacity. Responsible for capacity planning; Under direction of the Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications, engage with the business as needed in supporting the above; Work with the relevant IT teams in developing and delivering enhancements and new capabilities.

Drive and manage those efforts; Deliver recommendations to the business and IT leadership based on an understanding of the platform, roadmap and related business drivers; Maintain current and accurate architecture and support documentation for use by both engineering teams and support staff; Adhere to and participate in the Firm’s Change Management process; Provide regular updates and reporting to both the Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications and Director of Applications; Collaborates in the creation and use of training and QA materials and activities for applications supported; Provides coaching to junior analysts on troubleshooting and best practices; Know common legal enterprise solutions. Advanced knowledge of enterprise applications on-premise, in the cloud, and hybrid; Work with product vendors and procurement; Possess strong communication, organization, negotiation, critical thinking, and leadership skills as well as exceptional customer service and collaboration abilities; Work with QA on test scripts, procedures, and remediation; Works overtime and after-hours as required; and Participates in on-call rotation for after-hours break/fix support. Proficiencies: Advanced 3E or Aderant support; Advanced knowledge of Thomson Reuters Elite 3E accounting/billing systems; Advanced knowledge of multi-tier architecture including servers, databases, proxies, load balancing, trust/access rights, certificates, and integrations; Advanced knowledge of Windows Server including IIS, services, scheduled tasks, logging, and configurations; Advanced knowledge of SQL Server, SQL development/queries, and reporting tools, especially Power BI; Intermediate knowledge of system integrations including APIs, web services, FTP, and database-to-database; Basic ability to manage monitoring, backups, HA, BC, DR, patching, and admin tools; Basic ability to work with desktop and mobile applications for their installation and configurations; Basic ability to work with project management on plans, tasks, and resource management and tools such as Confluence and JIRA; Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell; Familiarity with security best practices and procedures; Familiarity with data governance best practices and procedures; Familiarity with related IT departments such as infrastructure, desktop, service desk, development, operations, and telecommunications; and Familiarity with IntApp Integrate. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (strongly preferred) or equivalent work experience; Working knowledge of legal technology solutions preferred; At least 7 years of information technology experience; At least 5 years of experience working with and supporting enterprise platforms; At least 5 years experience working with Thomson Reuters Elite 3E; At least 3 years executive-level engagement and customer service; At least 3 years of experience in a professional services or legal environment preferred; At least 3 years experience working on data analytics and reporting efforts; and At least 3 years experience with PowerBI.
