Job Description
The Financial Specialist II, under general supervision, provides business and budgetary support services to the Title III Administration Office. This position will perform all duties associated with fiscal management, accounting, and inventory audits.
This position may pay more that the minimum amount listed based on education and experience of selected candidate.
This position is funded by grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.
Responsibilities:
Records, sorts, verifies, enters, and retrieves financial data. Provides customer service and/or accounting related duties.
Acts as a resource regarding financial matters. Audits transactions.
Assists with writing and implementing standardized procedures. Applies and enforces rules and regulations.
Researches and resolves problems and discrepancies. Provides periodic guidance and acts as a resource to Activity Coordinators and administrative assistant staff.
Monitor old grant encumbrances and contact corresponding departments.
Review accounts/object code balances and prepares budget transfers when needed.
Research funding accounts for inventory items when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience in fiscal management, accounting, and inventory audits.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
