A career in our Financial Services Tax practice, within Corporate Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. You'll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. You'll also help organisations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties, as well as providing advice on tax implications of deals. Our team helps our Financial Services clients navigate the frequently changing and complex national and international tax environment related to stringent capital requirements, management of operational tax risks, and tax implications of investing in different jurisdictions. You'll help our clients with their tax structuring while helping to address the challenges of the continuously changing tax world, both locally and globally.

Responsibilities

As a Director, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively lead the practise by setting strategy, drive the development of new business in the market, and provide technical advice across disciplines

  • Building strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalise on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading across a number of different business units and sectors

  • Identifying and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities

  • Responsibility for a majority of day to day client communications

  • Responsibility to shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of our clients and our own assignment quality criteria

  • Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team

  • Responsibility for management of engagement financials

  • Helping to grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Extensive knowledge of tax compliance methods, strategy consulting for Real Estate Investment Trusts and Real Estate Partnerships. Thorough knowledge of partnership structures and their impact on real estate transactions and corresponding tax liabilities. Considerable knowledge of accounting of Unrelated Business Taxable Income.

Extensive technical skills, including providing full services to real estate owners, developers and investors, including publicly traded REITS, institutional real estate funds managed by financial institutions and privately held real estate entities. Thorough experience identifying and addressing client needs: developing and sustaining deep client relationships using networking, negotiation and persuasion skills to identify and sell potential new service opportunities; preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials; and defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collection. Thorough experience as a team leader: leading teams to generate a vision, establish direction and motivate members, create an atmosphere of trust, leverage diverse views, coach staff, and encourage improvement and innovation.

Demonstrates a proven record of success as a tax technical team leader generating new business, proposal writing and delivery, collaborating across engagements and business units. Identifying opportunities to provide additional services with experience utilizing a CRM system in a professional services firm to network, develop relationships and sell additional/new services.

Demonstrates experience in a professional services environment utilizing automation & digitization in a professional services environment, including but not limited to:

  • innovating through new and existing technologies, along with experimenting with digitization solutions;
  • working with large, complex data sets to build models and leveraging data visualization tools to provide insights to clients;
  • transforming the business by creating capacity and delivering an enhanced employee and client experience.

Proven experience with evaluating and negotiating new and existing contracts, as well as leveraging pricing tools to contribute to pricing strategies.

What You Will Do * Regional leader overseeing the use of new technology in the design, development and execution of all scales of interiors and base building with an emphasis on Building Information Modeling (BIM), Computation and Visualization. * Actively participate on Firmwide calls for Computational Design, Revit (BIM) Office Leaders, Creative Media and Design Resilience calls. * Lead the discussion with office leadership on how to invest in digital advancements and monitor an annual budget. * Meet regularly with Office and Regional leadership in Technical, Design, and Project Management. * Participate in business development, as needed, to bring the right opportunities from Digital Design to the client pitches. * Work with Legal & Risk Management to review contracts, provisions and other documents to address Digital Design within the project delivery. * Work with the regional team to develop content that is shared across the region and around the firm. * Manage the staffing of the Design Technology Team members. * Oversee the development of training and workshops within the region. * Direct R + D efforts within the region and maintain knowledge on trends in the industry via conferences, publications, and relationships with industry academic partners. Qualifications/Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent, with 10+ years of experience in design and/or construction practice preferred. Licensed professional preferred * Expert knowledge of, and proven practical background in, Autodesk Revit Architecture and related BIM software. * 5 years of experience in the project-specific, BIM workflow from start to finish. * Articulate communicator, able to convey Digital Design concepts to all levels of design and delivery leadership. * Relevant knowledge of design applications such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Visual Programming (Grasshopper/Dynamo), 3D Studio Max, V-Ray and/or other rendering platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. and how they work together. * Strong interest and/or previous experience presenting at conferences and events as a thought leader in digital design. * Experience managing and mentoring staff across multiple office locations.
