The incumbent will serve as a Financial Services Coordinator that applies professional financial services and concepts to support the research groups at SDSC. S/he will manage day-to-day program and business affairs, provide comprehensive planning and support to the Principal Investigators at the Center for Applied Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA) and the Business Office at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC).
The incumbent will communicate organizational policies and procedures to resolve routine to moderately complex issues and customer inquiries regarding domestic and international travel, payment reimbursements, and contract and grant proposal assistance, as well as identify and resolve routine issues related to operational and financial transactions and services by interacting with group members including those in remote locations using a high level of tact and diplomacy.
Additionally, the incumbent will research and locate new sources of information to create special documents, keep up with UCSD policies and procedures and follow standard practices for analyzing situations and data. S/he will receive and work on predetermined assignments that are subject to moderate level of control and review.
The incumbent will independently coordinate seminars, conferences, workshops and meetings of moderate size and complexity at SDSC for research groups, using professional judgment when taking appropriate action. S/he will receive visitors and provide backup to others as needed, and serve as the main point of contact for reservation of recharge meeting spaces.

Demonstrated knowledge of financial or accounting concepts, processes and procedures.
Basic knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems. Experience with reviewing financial contracts and procurement of high-dollar contracts for hotel, catering and large events.
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software. Experience with event registration software such as etouches.
Demonstrated experience with complex, large travel arrangements.
Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet access, web browsers, and email programs. Ability to learn and effectively use computerized systems.
