Reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance, this position will manage external financial and environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting processes for the Company, communicating with all levels of management and working closely with many cross functional teams, as well as our external auditors. Will serve as the Company's subject matter expert on accounting policies, technical accounting standards, climate and corporate social responsibility reporting regulations, driving necessary communication and process change to implement relevant new standards and associated internal controls.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and review all external financial filings with the SEC, including quarterly earnings releases, Form 10-K/Q, Form 8-Ks, and any other filings prepared by the Company. Coordinate with the legal team for SEC filings, including the Proxy Statement and miscellaneous filings. Coordinate with investor relations for financial materials, including quarterly and annual investor presentations.
Act as the subject matter lead for the Finance organization on ESG matters, including:
Direct and coordinate preparation of ESG and sustainability disclosures for inclusion in ESG report,10-K/Q reports/statutory reports, ensuring reporting aligned to evolving requirements of various global frameworks
Assess existing reporting processes, including input assessment, data capture, controls and governance and evaluation of systems capabilities, including coordination with internal and external auditors
Develop, update and maintain financial reporting policies for ESG-related financial processes, and ensure those policies are communicated effectively across the organization
Conduct ongoing benchmarking of ESG and sustainability disclosures relative to our peers, other corporate ESG and sustainability leaders, and industry trends.
Lead the selection and implementation of a formalized ESG reporting data management platform to support ESG data collection, storage, approval and reporting.
Coordinate quarterly Disclosure Committee Meetings
Plan and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audit with the external auditors, identify, schedule and review workpapers and analyses to be received from other areas of the company.
Prepare reports schedules and analyses for executive management; assist with preparing material for management presentations.
Research accounting issues and practices; interpret, identify effect and recommend appropriate action for the company from FASB, SEC and other authoritative pronouncements. Work with impacted departments to ensure pronouncements are appropriately adopted.
Analyzing the financial, accounting and economic impacts of proposed transactions for executive management and the Board of Directors.
Assist in Controller Group site visits, to assess internal controls and reporting/accounting at the local level.
Assist in the management of the global SOX program.
Supervise and develop staff.
Assist in performing due diligence, purchase accounting and in the integration of acquired businesses.
Manage the Company's Accounting and Management policies and proactively update policies to incorporate operational benefits to the organization.
Assists the controller's organization with special projects.
Requirements
Education/Certifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent
Masters in Accountancy or MBA a plus
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
Experience
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
Effective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills required
Experience in MS Office suite of products, knowledge of XBRL and EDGAR filing standards
Clear and thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and their application
Clear and thorough understanding of reporting requirements and understanding of SEC requirements
Ability to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Ability to effectively research and apply results of that research
