Business Unit Description:

Finance enables DTCC to maintain the highest level of financial performance by providing sound accounting and financial control of our business operations, partnering with business leaders to support business planning efforts and capital investments.

Position Summary:

The Financial Reporting Director reports to and assists the Global Corporate Controller, manages a team of individuals and is responsible for the global leadership of all external financial reporting and regulatory reporting as well as the oversight of all technical accounting matters.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates preparation of the DTCC consolidated financial statements and three subsidiary stand-alone financial statements submitted to the SEC

  • Provides guidance and oversight for all subsidiary financial statements issued globally (>20 financial statements) to ensure consistency in reporting and accounting

  • Manages the consolidated year end audit as well as quarterly reviews

  • Analyzes and reviews consolidated financial results and review ongoing business operations with Corporate Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Tax

  • Oversees the team responsible for researching, analyzing, documenting, and implementing transactions that require a US GAAP and IFRS technical accounting assessment including implementing new standards

  • Remains current on pending accounting guidance and evaluate the financial implications of proposed/new accounting pronouncements

  • Prepares material used in communications to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and senior management covering accounting issues to enable decision making

  • Participates in various special projects such as implementation of new accounting standards, M&A transactions, and serve as financial liaison to various multi-functional task forces focused on operational issues

  • Updates the Company's financial and accounting policies as needed and assist with the application and adherence to the policies

  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior

Qualifications:

  • CPA with at least 10 years of related experience, including 5 plus years in public accounting, preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm. Exposure to SEC reporting required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experience

  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with IFRS and SEC rules and regulations required

  • Ability to research and propose company positions on complex accounting issues; a knack for communicating complex, technical issues in a plain English and authoritative manner to diverse audiences

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; must be willing and able to interact with and present to all levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner. Robust problem solving and analytical skills; strategic and creative thinking aptitude.

  • Proficient with financial systems, particularly HFM (Oracle and Oracle Cloud expertise a huge plus)
