The Financial Reporting Analyst shall be responsible for using accounting techniques to compile, analyze, and document financial data for the school system.
Essential Duties:
Conduct monthly analysis to monitor revenue efficiency, expenditure efficiency, and other division key performance indicators.
Prepare multi-year trend analysis of revenue and expenses to develop projections for budgets.
Monitor disbursements to identify rates of spending comparative to budget, conduct research, identify issues as they arise, and communicate recommended corrective steps as needed.
Ensure fixed assets are accurately identified and recorded within the financial records for accounting periods as required, ensuring calculations of depreciation are performed accordingly.
Collaborate cross-divisionally to support the inventory management system and practices.
Assist with the research and development of accounting procedures which integrate Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards, statutory accounting requirements, and local fiscal policies and procedures.
Assist management in the implementation of financial reporting process improvements.
Conduct research and audits of financial activity as required.
Support preparation for annual and other periodic audit reviews, to include providing information and assistance to internal and external auditors upon request.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or state approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required. Bachelor's degree or coursework in accounting, preferred.
Minimum of two years in a finance-related position, required; experience in public school district budgeting, preferred.
Strong governmental accounting and analytical skills; knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal supervision utilizing various technologies.
Ability to independently conduct, interpret, document and deliver analysis.
Strong human relations and communication skills; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Strong computer skills with applicable knowledge of Microsoft Excel and various accounting software.

Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
