Job Description:

Ingram Barge Company, the leading carrier on America's inland waterways, has an opening for a Financial Reporting Accountant II, based in our Nashville, TN office. This role is responsible for general ledger accounting functions, month-end closing processes, and assisting with our annual budget.

What you will be doing:

  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating budget preparation, and providing budget assistance where needed

  • Maintaining budgeting model in Adaptive Planning

  • Preparing quarterly forecasts

  • Completing monthly close in PeopleSoft, including preparation and posting of various journal entries and review of various accounts

  • Maintaining and running PeopleSoft allocations

  • Preparing monthly statistical information

  • Preparing Balance Sheet account reconciliations and clearing items timely

  • Investigating variances between actual and budget expenses, and completing correcting entries when necessary

  • Preparing analysis of legal expenses

  • Preparing analysis of miscellaneous income and expenses

  • Updating and maintaining financial system documentation and training materials

  • Preparing analysis of prepaid expenses

  • Preparing and recording marine payroll and bonus entries for monthly financial statements

  • Leading and contributing to special projects

Minimum Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred

  • CPA or CMA certifications preferred

  • Four years accounting experience

  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices

  • Focus on customer loyalty, quality orientation, and network building

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal

  • Highly self-motivated and directed

Manage leadership requests related to strategic planning and presentations and other related ad hoc requests. Manage quality related requests that may include time analysis for specific engagements or partners, support information for PCAOB reviews and a wide variety of other risk management related requests. Resource related requests around utilization, market specific reviews/trends and other potential resource related requests.
