What you'll be doing...

You'll help us understand and manage submarine cable technology that our International customers use to connect businesses between continents and across global oceans. You will maintain our leadership position by anticipating Submarine Cable industry technology trends and shaping our future costs of service so that Verizon retains a competitive edge. Your vision and leadership will help us realize what's next for Verizon.

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. This roleoffers opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your financial analytical leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You'll become involved in new initiatives to develop new products and services and can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios.

  • Prepares in-depth analysis and insights

  • Develop profitability (costing) models

  • Integrates final cost drivers and allocation methods into profitability (costing) tools, models, and/or templates.

  • Analyses risks and opportunity considerations and develops insights to guide executives on business decisions

  • Partners with Center of Excellence on standard reporting (e.g. template updates, charts), presentation materials

  • Provides final commentary and business insight for inclusion in business performance reviews as well as final development of resolutions to business performance issues

  • Addresses advanced capital needs, profitability analysis, specific sensitivity/trending/NPV analysis, and metric related information in coordination with Business owners

  • Identifies updates to possible scenarios, associated risks and opportunities around business performance

  • Work with Verizon cable landing station operations in the Pacific, Continental US, and Europe

What we're looking for...

You to keep abreast of Global IP technology trends and fundamentals of Submarine cable operations. You enjoy digging through data for insight into opportunities for how we can help our large International customers work, play and connect in new and better ways at lower costs across vast oceans. You will become an expert on Verizon's existing portfolio of Submarine cable routes and future capacity requirements.

Must have:

  • Requires Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years of Professional Experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with proven focus on Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Attention to details; strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Familiar with the preparation of General Ledger, Basic Knowledge of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles preferred

  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry preferred, but not required

  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) are preferred

  • Proficiency in the usage of Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Strategic Finance preferred
