Our Digital Consumer Brands group is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist to support the team in critical analyses of financial activities as well as timely and accurate financial reporting and close processes.

As our Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist, you will be part of the Digital Consumer Brands group to help build a next-generation platform of "DNVBs" (digitally-native vertical brands) within the world's largest retailer. The successful candidate will communicate with business development, lines of business and accounting on an ongoing basis. You will also communicate/have exposure to the Walmart Head Office as part of the monthly progress activity. This is a hands-on position that requires a detailed oriented individual with strong analytical skills and ability to manipulate large volumes of information.

You'll report to our Controller and will work closely with other brand's Finance teams. Because we hire for judgement, we'll be excited to hear your recommendations on process improvements and overall operational performance. We're looking for a critical thinker and structured problem solver who can help our brand launches get to the next level.

What you'll do:

  • Reconcile and prepare month-end balance sheet and income statement from a financial and management reporting perspective by legal entity, product and line of business, taking into consideration inter-business adjustments across lines of business

  • Prepare information and reports for consolidation at the DNVB level including: monthly and quarterly reporting, forecasts and ad hoc requests

  • Prepare financial and business related analysis at an entity level and line of business level for revenues and expenses reporting and control

  • Perform follow-up and forecasting on an ongoing basis throughout the year

  • Perform efficiencies analysis by brand and line of business

  • Generate expenses data for brands at the most granular level of detail

  • Prepare monthly presentations for senior management

  • Participate in the budgetary process and 5-year Long Range Plan

  • Assist in the preparation of forecasts for monthly, quarterly and year-end regulatory reporting

  • Ad hoc analysis as required


  • Have 3-5 years of relevant financial reporting experience in an Accounting or Finance related field

  • Have a background in (or passion for) eCommerce

  • Are able to interpret Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Off-Balance Sheet components

  • Are able to calculate and interpret financial ratios and metrics

  • Are detail oriented and have strong analytical skills

  • Are able to take ownership and deliver within tight deadlines

  • Possess advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills (knowledge of Access is a plus!)

  • Have knowledge of ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, including journal entry preparation and reporting

  • Have an open mind, a desire to learn and a positive attitude

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. * Support business expansion strategies - including Business Development and Licensing - by forecasting and assessing the financial impact of key decisions * Develop and coordinate long-term financial planning for the global organization * Utilize strong analytical skills in the review of complex strategic issues and provide input and recommendations towards innovative solutions * Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process for the global organization (incl.
