We are searching for a Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at our Maritime Services -Norfolk, VA, location.

You will demonstrate success by:

  • Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Manager.

  • FP&A is principally responsible for short and long-term financial forecasts, the annual indirect budgeting process, annual operating plan, variance analysis, and special projects / ad hoc requests.

  • Providing financial data and strategic support to senior management including preparing executive level presentations, financial presentations, financial analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, acquisition analysis and other projects requested by senior management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary lead for L3 Corporate/Segment/Sector/Division Financial Reporting requirements both routine and non-routine.

  • Strong understanding of advanced financial planning and analysis concepts and able to articulate this to management.

  • Owns the preparation of the Division's monthly Short-Term Forecast (STF) and Annual Operating Plan forecast (Plan) accompanied with detailed supporting schedules.

  • A clear understanding of indirect rate development/modeling and solid experience with rate variance analysis.

  • Analyze Division level financial forecasts and provide Sector management with independent assessments of projected performance against plan targets.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance with 10 years' experience as a Manager

  • CPA and/or MBA is desirable and may be substituted for years of experience

  • Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles, as well as familiarity with DFAS, FAR and CAS

  • Must have at least ten plus years in a similar role within the government contracting industry and/or a combination of progressive financial experience in a similar role within a related industry

Skills, Knowledge, Certifications and Conditions

  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office suite of product skills

  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on application of Deltek Costpoint or other ERP systems

  • Experience with Hyperion SmartView and Cognos reorting tools

  • Excellent communications skills (written, verbal, and presentation)

  • Strong sense of initiative, independence, closure, and ability to navigate multiple priorities in a tight-deadline, high-volume environment

  • Strong business partnering, interpersonal and leadership skills required

  • Ability to communicate complex financial data and concepts to both financial and non-financial leaders

  • Adept at using logic and reasoning to work through problems and analyze information

  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized

  • Demonstrated "can do" ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
