The Financial Operations Coordinator plans and implements the Mathematics Research Institute (MRI), a year-round professional educational program within the Department of Mathematics at The Ohio State University, to promote research interactions in the mathematical sciences among OSU faculty and researchers worldwide. The position coordinates the travel requests related to OSU Math Faculty Travel Program, invited guests (long/short term) for more than 20 seminar topics, Distinguished Visitor Program, the annual Rado and Zassenhaus distinguished lecture series and conferences hosted by OSU Math faculty such as the Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates and Young Mathematicians Conference.
Acts as a liaison between the MRI Director, MRI Board, seminar committees, and faculty who inquire about programs and visitors providing MRI and OSU policy/procedures and makes decisions with MRI Director in establishing policies and implementing them as they relate to the MRI; prepares and manages the MRI annual budget with dept fiscal officer and MRI Director; plans and manages approvals of conference proposals from the math faculty and MRI Board.
Minimum Education Required
High School diploma or GED is required
Required Qualifications
One year of experience in business operations in an administrative capacity. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office modules including Excel and Word.
Desired Qualifications
One year of experience managing quantitative projects including: managing database surveys and project records. Knowledge of OSU, Office of Sponsored Programs, and Arts and Sciences Business Service Center policies and procedures. Experience with Workday.

The pay range for this job profile is $18.17 - $23.90. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
