UCI Urology seeks to provide all patients with the best in innovative urological diagnosis and treatment. We focus on treating the whole patient and not just the symptoms, with an ultimate goal of effective and personally tailored healthcare.
Under minimal direction from the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the incumbent will serve as the Financial Manager for the Department of Urology. The Financial Manager will work directly with the CAO and Chair to implement strategies to ensure successful fiscal management of the Department.
The incumbent will plan, direct, implement, organize, and manage business office functions including billing, accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, contract and grant account management, purchasing and accounts payable functions, physician compensation plan management, performance improvement, and equipment and facilities management. In this capacity, the Financial Manager is responsible for analyzing and improving daily financial activities. Incumbent is responsible for practice management, accounts receivable management, financial reporting and analysis, compliance, information systems management, supervision and personnel management.
The Finance Manager supports the department by providing operational administration, medical practice management, and education program management, ensuring consistency of practice and quality of service and will serve as the Assistant Department Administrator and Research Administrator. The incumbent will oversee day-to-day operations, conduct studies, perform independent analyses, develop and implement procedures, and recommend policy changes to CAO and Chair to ensure compliance with policies, rules and regulations imposed by government and outside agencies, School, campus and University authorities.

5+ years of complex financial analysis experience required
Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent experience
In depth ability to use multiple spreadsheet and database software tools to gather information for specialized, complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports. Advanced interpersonal skills at all levels within the organization; advanced service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail.
In depth ability to use organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment. Supervisory experience Advanced knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems. Ability to function as a member of a team.
Advanced ability to effectively present complex finance related information both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Ability to identify, collect, and analyze information from multiple sources.
Knowledge of UC policy and procedures in areas of finance, contract and grant management, purchasing, and payroll. Performance Improvement experience (lean Six Sigma, etc) Advanced knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
