Financial Manager Sr Arizona State University TSGM Administration Campus: Downtown Phoenix 102095BR Job Description Under administrative direction, develops, manages and controls business operations functions in a university work unit.

These functions include budgeting and forecasting, accounting, data and cash management, salary planning and allocations, internal procedures and other functions designated by unit administrator. Salary Range $85,000 - $100,000 per year; DOE Close Date 25-June-2024 Essential Duties Participates in planning, developing and administering School budget. Works on budget development, management, planning and budget data entry in conjunction with other Business Operations staff.

Prepares budgets, forecasts and financial reports. May interact with staff and faculty on budget management and development. Oversees and monitors financial information for internal centers and global hubs; including activity on Thunderbird’s 501c3 entity.

Works directly with staff in these areas on financial needs as well as helping maintain the accuracy of their programs. Assists with pricing external contracts and working with ASUF on gift funding sources. Manages large datasets of financial information for reporting and reconciliation purposes.

Communicates monthly financials to business unit owners and responds to questions and issues as well as facilitate expense and revenue transfers as necessary. Reports year-end financials for entire school and individual departments. Manages staff and faculty salaries as they relate to budgeting and forecasting process as well as allocating across product lines and grants.

Prepares information for senior management to support decision making. Processes payroll re-distributions as needed. Manages and documents Workday cost centers, programs/accounts and work tags for Business Operations team.

Prepares PSIF and GOT funding requests. Internally reports ASUF balances to senior management. Develops financial models and analysis for various scenarios and alternative financial inputs.

Develops, analyzes and interprets statistical and financial data for predicting resource needs and developing plans. Develops and analyses various budget scenarios and models. Works closely with other staff in Business Operations on variety of activities and reporting in the management of the business and human resource needs of the School and Thunderbird 501c3.

Interprets and applies pertinent rules, regulations, policies and procedures set forth by university or other governing agencies with staff and faculty of the school. Interfaces with other units and colleges at ASU as appropriate/needed for school. Performs other tasks, projects and activities relevant to Business Operations as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field AND eight (8) years of professional accounting and/or professional financial operations experience, OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications Skill in budget preparation, entry and management. Experience and skill in financial modeling and analysis.

Skill in developing, interpreting and utilizing financial information. Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of budgeting, and fiscal management. Knowledge of standard business practices, methods and techniques.

Ability to prepare, audit, understand and interpret complex financial and budgetary management reports. Skill in problem solving and decision-making. Skill in planning, analyzing and coordinating activities and establishing priorities.

Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to quickly changing priorities and short deadlines.

Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships both within and across organizational areas. Ability to effectively utilize reporting formats and criteria to present succinct and meaningful management information to a variety of audiences with varying levels of interest/understanding. Ability to download and extract large sets of financial information and manipulate into usable data.

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other team members, faculty and staff across the school and university. Working Environment Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.

Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
