Compliance with constantly changing regulations requires efficient programs with the right technology and protocols in place to complete the task at hand but also report information that is useful to the business and falls within regulatory expectations. Our Financial Management practice can help clients remediate regulatory gaps, both process-related and reporting, as well as design and implement sustainable models that streamline operations, comply with regulatory requirements and meet business needs. Grant Thornton's Advisory Services Practice seeks a Financial Management (FM) Senior Associate responsible for assisting the team within the four quadrants of the FM umbrella of services, including Financial Transformation, Cost and Performance Management, Financial Operations and Shared Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze business processes and define efforts to remediate gaps in operational performance against regulatory requirements.
Look beyond control points and focus on Finance Process Optimization changes that achieve conformance goals
Utilize previous consulting and industry experience to help companies set and achieve their long term goals.
Perform accurate analyses and design effective solutions for a variety of client issues
Work directly with clients to address their issues and act as the front-line relationship contact
Accessing Grant Thornton's global network to bring the best experience to the client
Work with team members and client personnel to plan engagement strategy, define objectives and address risks and issues.
Write and present reports that document results of work performed
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
General Banking Knowledge
2 - 5 years Banking industry consulting or experience. Finance function, data analytics a plus
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Experience working in financial services in a consulting capacity. Finance focus preferred.
PMP or process/six-sigma preferred
Strong analytical skills coupled with ability to perform quantitative analysis and develop business cases
Process analysis, Reporting & Business Intelligence, Data Analysis & Reconciliation.
Working knowledge of Close-the-books, Chart-of-Accounts, Financial Planning and Analysis & Financial Benchmarking
Knowledge of banking operations and related regulatory issues
Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills
Ability to work additional hours and travel to various client sites as needed
Master or MBA a differential plus
Possess or pursuing a CFA or FRM (or equivalent recognized Risk Management Certification)
