Responsibilities

  • You will be developing and implementing financial management plans, procedures, and programs to facilitate the effective, efficient, and timely application of financial resources.

  • You will be recommending and implementing new and revised financial management concepts, procedures, and strategies in support of the organization's programs.

  • You will be directing and/or performing program execution reviews, analyses, and appraisals of the various major operating and support programs within the organization and with external stakeholders.

  • You will be conducting research for the development of top-level budget summaries during each budget cycle outlining major changes and tracking current and future capabilities.

  • You will be overseeing the financial integrity, timeliness, and accuracy of information contained in accounting, budget execution, and financial management reports.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Financial Management, Level III. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.

  • This is a Financial Management Level III certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • This position may be a designated Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). You must be a member of the Acquisition Corps, become a member, or obtain a waiver at the time of selection and sign a three-year tenure agreement prior to assuming the position.

  • You may be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) may be required. A tentative offer of employment may be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You may be subject to random testing.

  • Positions filled may require Top Secret, Top Secret (SCI), you will be notified at the time of selection the security requirement.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading or developing financial management analysis functions (e.g. creating financial management plans, directing financial program reviews, or developing high level budget summaries) for an organization.
