Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a grant-funded specialized student assistant to collaborate with mathematics and finance faculty to co-develop and test financial literacy modules for UNG's secondary mathematics education program. The modules will guide secondary preservice teachers through six core principles of financial literacy education: earning income, spending, saving, investing, managing credit, and managing risk. Each module will include curriculum covering major concepts and math tasks.
Responsibilities
The undergraduate will provide student-level perspectives and feedback on the financial literacy modules.
This will include review of the curriculum and review on the math tasks.
In addition, the student assistant will meet with faculty throughout the Fall semester for curriculum revisions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Understanding of the six core areas including earning income, spending, saving, investing, managing credit, and managing risk.
Ability to evaluate math tasks embedded in the six core areas such as tasks on budgeting, planning for retirement, and purchasing a home.
Required Qualifications
Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
Finance or Accounting major with three or more years of experience in finance-related fields.
Experience collaborating with faculty and external stakeholders.
3.5 or higher GPA.
