The Financial Institutions Transformation Consultant will operate as part of RSM's Technology and Management Consulting Practice, assisting with maintaining and/or creating IT related compliance documentation for financial institutions - mainly banks and credit unions. Documentation examples include, but are not limited to, Information Security Policy, Risk Assessment and Business Impact Analysis.

Additionally, this person provide ongoing IT related regulatory guidance and advice to institutions, which may include assisting them with preparing for a regulatory exam and developing action items to address examiner findings. This person will collaborate often with RSM consultants, such as IT compliance team members, infrastructure and applications consultants and a variety of banking subject matter experts to contribute talents as needed to other RSM technology consulting related service teams' client projects.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Possess broad, general understanding of bank (or credit union) operations or bank / credit union business processes and technology

  • Maintain awareness of external regulations for new or changed requirements within IT

  • Continual learning to better understand the overall RSM technology consulting array of services, with the intent to enhance value to the client through integration of services

  • Aspire to career growth by assuming more active roles in technology assessments over time, as knowledge and experience progress

  • Ability to interface with and present to management level people

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or a combination of education and relevant experience
  • 7+ years experience in the financial institutions industry, preferably in operations, IT compliance or IT support

Other Requirements:

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

  • Broad, general understanding of technology strongly preferred

  • Solid understanding of banking operations, IT processes and compliance would be a plus

  • Strong communication, customer service and problem solving skills a must

  • Excellent customer relationship management skills and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders

  • Willingness to travel throughout the Midwest. (est. 65%)

We're looking for an experienced Senior Technology Consultant who can help clients adapt to the challenges and opportunities presented by the current technology trends, security, and regulation. From designing and implementing strategy, to assessing infrastructure and applications, to identifying and negotiating third party vendor relations, we need someone who can advise clients through the process, architect a plan, assess risks, and inspire value-driven strategic decision-making. Duties and Responsibilities * Serves as an outsourced technology advisor OTA, providing hands-on strategic advice, assessment, and support in alignment with technology goals and objectives. * Serves as an outsourced security advisor or OSA, providing direction, advice, and assistance in the organization's information and cyber security programs, as well as with vendor management and business contingency efforts. * Performs strategic technology assessments and/or plans customized to fit the institutions overall business objectives, size, and complexity. * Performs core and ancillary systems selections, contract assessments, and advisory services. * Conducts technology/operations and organizational assessments to ensure continued alignment with strategic initiatives, process improvement considerations, and future growth. * Performs efficiencies studies to improve technology utilization, streamline workflow processes, and reduce overall operating expenses. * Serves as a project advisor for client's key technology or operational implementations including core system conversions. * Assist clients with maximizing their delivery channel value to create a more robust, integrated customer experience. * Leads merger and acquisition integration activities in blending infrastructure, systems, people, product lines and processes. * Provides assistance in overall business continuity plan development, training, and testing. * Assists in the development and execution of the vendor management program. * Provides direction and support in the development and review of security policies, procedures, risks, and documentation. * Serves as an oversight member to Technology Steering Committees to provide strategic business advice, offer feedback and suggestions based on industry standards and best practices, and to assist in ongoing planning. Qualifications Experience: * A minimum of eight years' experience working in the financial services industry, with senior level experience and hands-on knowledge in technology and/or operations. * Or a combination of at least two years consulting experience, with at least five years of experience working in the financial services industry, with senior level experience and hands-on knowledge in technology and/or operations. * IT Management and/or prior CIO experience is a preferred.
