Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.
The Corporate Banking Relationship Memo Team is seeking a Financial Crimes Consultant 4, responsible for the following:
Advises LOBs and other stakeholders on financial crime/ reputational issues related to potential clients who pose a higher financial crime risk to the Bank.
Assists in the drafting, review and approval of Relationship Memos for high-risk client types.
Validates and understands customer risk scores derived from the bank's automated risk scoring solutions.
Ensures that the EDD packages are complete and in conformance with bank standards. Ensures that the high-risk client memos clearly identify CDD, risk attributes, negative news, risk mitigates, and a comprehensive understanding of the customers' business model.
Assists in overseeing the periodic high-risk customer reviews ensuring execution in accordance with deadlines and that the work product adequately identifies and mitigates any risk identified.
Assists in preparations for audits, testing reviews, or regulatory examinations responding to the High Risk Client/EDD component of these reviews on behalf of CBG FCRM. Assists with the resolution of any issues, findings and/or recommendations.
Participates in special projects related to client onboarding, EDD/KYC, and BSA/AML.
Identifies and escalates clients to appropriate senior management and investigative units when analysis uncovers unresolvable risk concerns and/or potential suspicious activity.
Participates and/or conducts training presentations and exercises with LOBs regarding the periodic high-risk client review processes, relationship memo development, and the documentation of unusual activity.
Any other tasks, as required.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Other Desired Qualifications
High degree of knowledge of government and regulatory requirements regarding AML, CDD, EDD, sanctions and ABC.
An in-depth understanding of financial crimes risks across products, services, customers, and geographies within Wholesale Banking.
