Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

This is a Financial Crimes Consultant 2 position with the Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) Gift and Entertainment (G&E) Oversight team currently supporting Wells Fargo Securities and supporting lines of business. The WFS G&E Oversight team provides credible challenge to G&E expenses and is part of the first line of defense regarding all G&E related expense activity compliance. As a member of this team you will be expected provide advisory, guidance and support across a multitude of businesses with an understanding of FINRA/MSRB rules and regulations related to gifts and entertainment and general expense management, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the UK Bribery Act, and other regulatory risk and compliance.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Review of G&E expense activity and data management

  • Review of Meeting and Events activity

  • Review of Spotlight Ticket Management System

  • Review of Sponsorship and Charitable Contributions

  • Management of the pre-clearance process

  • Fielding questions from the Line of Business

  • G&E report generation and communications

Additional responsibilities are to create efficiencies by revising key processes and tools, applying new technologies and approaches to increase the capacity and effectiveness of the WFS G&E Program.

This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: fraud, Bank Secrecy Act, anti money laundering, investigations of financial crimes transactions or policy violations, risk management, or compliance; or a BS/BA degree or higher in applied sciences, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or criminal justice, with 1+ year of experience in the foregoing

The team reviews account activity and high-risk transactions to prevent victim and perpetrator fraud, processes check fraud and Automated Clearing House (ACH) claims, investigates and resolves customer disputes (fraud and non-fraud) on all transaction types and manages all Wells Fargo identity theft cases. Are you interested in a transformational leadership position in Fraud Prevention and Detection to help protect customers and drive innovative business solutions? The Financial Crimes Manager 2 will lead a team of 50 – 100 team members who have responsibility for overseeing the review and detection of suspicious account maintenance activity for potential account takeover. The team is responsible for securing our customers' banking relationship when warranted, and upon confirmation of fraud, ensuring the customer is transitioned appropriately through the claims process to mitigate impacts to the customer. The leader will deploy the strategy for the Account Takeover Operations Team and its core areas of focus, and will be responsible for identifying strategies to enhance controls, streamline operations and delivery to improve the customer experience, enable business growth and ensure ongoing customer trust. This position will partner with the strategy team to protect our customers from fraud and ensure they have exceptional experiences across multiple touch points. Other responsibilities include: * Site and functional accountability for the financial and operational performance, including budget forecasting and variance justification * Providing input into the development and implementation of longer-term strategies * Directing, coaching and driving team performance to accomplish goals and exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) * Analyzing service standards, fraud trends and emerging issues to identify and develop new business strategies * Leading the team and business through change while effectively accomplishing goals, effectively leveraging resources and ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies.
