Financial Crimes Analyst II - More than Your Bank. Your Banker.

This position is part of the Transactional Risk & Fraud Prevention department which supports the Bank's retail deposit operations by mitigating associated risk. The primary responsibilities of this position are to detect deposit account fraud, prevent losses to the Bank and provide periodic and on-demand transaction monitoring reports to management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors real time and posted transactions to identify fraudulent transactions or suspicious account activity and take steps to prevent financial losses to the bank and/or the client
Fraudulent check deposits
Ensures appropriate steps are taken to prevent and/or reduce financial losses
Analysis and detection of new and existing deposit account fraud through the use of account monitoring and anomaly detection systems and related reports:
Suspicious or illegal transaction activity
Check forgeries and alterations
Determine funds availability based on account relationship review
Secure deposit account funds by placing account holds, freezes, alerts and/or messages
Develop, produce and analyze periodic and on-demand reports through the use of Microsoft Excel and Access

Provides additional support to manager and department colleagues.
Assist with special projects as needed
Completes all assigned/required Bank training within established timelines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Preferred:
The following KSAs are usually acquired through work experience and/or specialized course(s):
Basic banking knowledge including core banking, online banking and debit card processing
Self-motivated, attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with focus on risk management
Understanding of regulations:
Regulation E, Electronic Funds Transfers
Regulation CC, Availability of Funds and Collection of Checks
Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, "FACTA"
Understanding of electronic payment processes
Understanding of electronic check clearing and collection
Knowledge of security and data intrusion techniques
Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Secured entry building and department
Fast paced operations environment
Additional extended hours may be required as dictated by work volume fluctuations and/or staffing
