The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for maintaining financial records and preparing monthly financial statements along with a financial trend, modality volume trend chart package for a key Joint Venture of St. Luke's University Hospital. This Senior Financial Analyst position is also responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, various expense analyses, and the trauma revenue reconciliation, which supports the St. Luke's University Health Network's Level 1 Trauma Center requirements This position also interacts with the OMS billing and office staff to enhance processes and reduce costs, prepares the annual operating budget, and provides backup supports the O/P Rehab service line. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Prepare monthly financial statements and the annual operating budget. * Develop proformas for opportunities related to expansion of the joint venture. * Prepares and updates detailed PowerPoint graph analyses to support the financial statement package. * Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and resulting financial statements for the joint venture. * Utilize various information systems to develop analysis reporting. * Responsible for preparation of various expense analyses and balance sheet reconciliations. * Maintain updated and accurate fixed asset and loan amortization schedules. * Responsible for obtaining, reviewing and reconciling monthly billing reports. * Responsible for managing cash inflows and outflows. * Assist in development of accounting policies and procedures. * Prepares monthly calculation for contractual service fees. * Cross-train as backup support for the O/P Rehab Financial Analyst. * Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information. * Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements. * Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external). * Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety. * Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices. * Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code. PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sitting up to 7 hours per day, 3 hours at a time. Continuously uses fingers and hands for typing, data entry, etc. Uses upper extremities to lift up to 30 pounds. Frequently stoops, bends, and reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation and telephone. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision and peripheral vision. Visual monotony when reading reports and reviewing computer screen. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to meet deadlines on a recurring basis. Initiative ability to problem solve independently. EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required. CPA or MBA preferred. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum ten years financial analysis and/or financial statement preparation experience. Superior Excel skills.
